Try this Simplest Provençal Nougat Recipe























    Ingredients:
  • 500g Almonds
  • 400g Sugar
  • 400g of a good quality honey

Nougat tips: 'Never make nougat on a rainy day'

This is the simplest and earliest nougat recipe; a dark nougat made in Provence before the addition of egg whites made it the more familiar soft white variety. It has the quality of a really good nut brittle.

  • Mix the ingredients in a pan and simmer until a golden colour
  • Pour into a shallow tray and allow to cool.
  • Then cut into chunks or strips and enjoy.
